Words of Wisdom.

These are some deep thoughts from Jack Handey.. Enjoy!
If you ever crawl inside an old hollow log and go to sleep, and while you're in there some guys come and seal up both ends and then put it on a truck and take it to another city, boy, I don't know what to tell you.
+++++++++++++++
Consider the daffodil. And while you're doing that, I'll be over here, looking through your stuff.
+++++++++++++++
If you're a cowboy and you're dragging a guy behind your horse, I bet it would really make you mad if you looked back and the guy was reading a magazine.
+++++++++++++++
Sometimes I think you have to march right in and demand your rights, even if you don't know what your rights are, or who the person is you're talking to. Then on the way out, slam the door.
+++++++++++++++
For mad scientists who keep brains in jars, here's a tip: why not add a slice of lemon to each jar, for freshness?+++++++++++++++
When I found the skull in the woods, the first thing I did was call the police. But then I got curious about it. I picked it up, and started wondering who this person was, and why he had deer horns.
+++++++++++++++
As the light changed from red to green to yellow and back to red again, I sat there thinking about life. Was it nothing more than a bunch of honking and yelling? Sometimes it seemed that way.
+++++++++++++++
Maybe in order to understand mankind we have to look at that word itself. MANKIND. Basically, it's made up of two separate words "mank" and "ind." What do these words mean? It's a mystery and that's why so is mankind
+++++++++++++++
Instead of having "answers" on a math test, they should just call them "impressions," and if you got a different "impression," so what, can't we all be brothers?
+++++++++++++++
Somebody told me how frightening it was how much topsoil we are losing each year, but I told that story around the campfire and nobody got scared.
+++++++++++++++
If trees could scream, would we be so cavalier about cutting them down? We might, if they screamed all the time, for no good reason.
+++++++++++++++
If you ever drop your keys into a river of molten lava, let'em go, because, man, they're gone

I wonder...

Merry Christmas everyone!
Here's another poem i wrote... it's kinda long, but a fast enough read.
Enjoy your day!
Today is Christmas day,
and a story comes to mind,
how God turned man came down to earth,
to rescue all mankind.
I wonder how it would’ve been
for a girl to become a mother,
to give birth to the Son of God,
with just a stable for cover.
and how did Joseph feel,
to be like a father to the One,
who came to save and set us free,
to make His eternal sons.
Shepherds sitting with their sheep,
on the dusty ground,
what was it like to see that light?
to hear that heavenly sound?
And wise men from the east,
why did they come so far?
how did it feel to see the Child,
or to chase that shining star?
and what a bunch of hypocrites,
who had memorized The Book,
who talk the wise men where to go,
and didn’t take a look!
Wicked, wicked Herod,
did you think you would succeed?
Does God not know your jealous heart?
your selfishness and greed?
And what if I had lived those days,
how would I have been?
Would I rejoice to see my Lord?
Fall down and worship Him?
Or would I go about my work,
like every other day,
not care that Jesus Christ was born,
to show the world the way!
But wait, what difference does it make?
if I live now, not in B.C.
Christ’s message is the same right now,
for all eternity!

My life right now, it matters,
what I think and do and say,
I can worship Christ and spread the news,
or I can just go on my way.
Lord help me to live my life for You,
to love You for all of my days,
help me to know You, to show you to others,
filling my life with your praise!

It's Christmas time!

The wind is blowing,
The snow is snowing,
The fire is glowing,
The lawnmower is mowing,
the excitment is growing,
and everyone's going

with hearts full of cheer
to those far and near,
and everyone dear,
the stars are so clear,
and Frosty is here,
cuz it's that time of the year!

Our Recital!

Ok, first a bit of background people... this was not an ordinary recital in the slightest. Allow me to explain...
*Ahem* I take lessons from a girl who is part of a group of about 23 people who are called The Forget-Me-Nots. Most of this group sings together, and plays bluegrass gospel. Their singing is mainly Austrian singing, as that is where they came from, and they want to preserve their heritage. The amazing thing is, they all live in one big beautiful house! They are some of the most friendly, sincere, awesome people i know.
Ok, picture this: It's snowing like crazy, and in the middle of it is this big beautiful house, all lit up for christmas, and inside full of christmas decorations, a roaring fire, lots of candles, and the whole mood is kind of festive, lots of reds and browns, and a big wooden staircase. Very cosy. You go into a big room with lots of flowers, china, a big long couch, one gorgeuos christmas tree, all lit up, piles of chairs, all squished together, and in the middle is a baby grand piano! (man it was squished! Liz, Mir and i all got standing room.:-)
The lights go dim... except one in the front, and a whole bunch of little kids from their school come in, all wearing adorable white outfits, with silver bands around their fofheads, and sing Silent Night, in adorable off-tune voices. and then everyone else did their pieces, ending with the kindergarteners doing a 'pioneer christmas'.
Then whatever Forget-me-nots are home came and sang an Austrian slow yodel, with all the lights off except or the christmas tree, and we all ended with silent night.
Then everybody filed into the kitchen to pig out on the piles of goodies they had set up, after Miriam and I went outside to get some air. It was so hot in there! Then Miriam, Chris, Lizzie and I all sat in the other livingroom by the fire and talked, until Danny, who is basically the lead singer in their bluegrass gospel group, came and talked to us about how he is playing guitar on a cd from a famous country singer that is coming out, and how they did it and everything, which was very interesting. We're with the big time here!
Anyways, It's kind of our little tradition for them to play for us at the end, so I asked Rachel, who is Lizzie's violin teacher, to come and sing one of my favourite songs, with Danny playing his amazing guitar, and slowly out came the enormous double bass, with Rachel's Dad playing it, the auto harp and violin with my piano teacher, Annie playing them, and Marks guitar teacher Ingrid sang, and WOW!!!!!!! They sang songs until like 11:00, standing in front of the fireplace... songs that make you laugh, songs that make you cry, and every song inbetween! It was so fun though, cuz people sang along, and mark even tried guitar on one that they needed another guitar for, and he went way too slow, so He started singing like a broken record, and it was so funny! then Rachel and Annie tried, but Rachel didn't know the chords, and Annie didn't know how to strum, so they both played at the same time, and we all laughed so hard... it didn't work very well!
The Forget-me-nots are a really good group, they sound good in concert, they sound good on cd, but there is nothing like sitting in the livingroom in front of the fire and hearing them live! And what makes it so extra special is that we know them, and they love us, they are commited Christians in kind of their own way, and they are so fun to be around! He's like "yeah, if you ever need inspiration, or you just want to jam, just give me a call! that's what i'm here for!"
Anyways, that's the end of my very long post, and now you know why i said it was amazing!
We missed you Jessi and Jay!

Abortion-the heart of the matter

Hey, i'm finally posting again...
this might be a bit long, sorry, but i thought i should put something serious on here!
Abortion- the unheard of sin 50 years ago, commonplace option today.Is it really nothing more than a choice? Is it really needed? and most importantly, is it right?keep reading…
Abortion advocates of today claim that woman have a choice, that it’s really just part of her body, so if she wants to “abort” the making of another human life, that’s her business. Does this hold water? I’m afraid not. When a child is aborted by vacuum suction, the abortionist or their assistant must go through the pieces afterward and make sure that there is a head, a torso, two arms, and two legs. What mother, let me ask, has two heads, two torsos, four arms, and four legs?If the mother is allowed to cruelly sucks the brains out of her unborn human being, why shouldn’t she be allowed to stab him in the back when he’s a teenager? after all, he’s just a part of her that happened to fall out, have a character and a soul, and a will of his own!And really, if we’re talking about choices, why isn’t the mother allowed to commit suicide? why aren’t we all? And what about the child? who asked him if he wanted to die? Why isn’t he allowed a choice?
But what if abortion is needed? after all, the biggest problem right now is that population of the world has exceeded 6 billion, and we’re running out of space! Right? Wrong. The greater development issue in many countries is the generation gap, with the amount of people over 65 growing by 800,000 a month! And since there is such a gap, the government will have to get a bigger budget for healthcare, live in institutions and other support systems for the aged, as well as the fact that the working population is getting smaller! The population of the world has indeed increased, but by no means are we running out of space. There are 148,940,000 square kilometers of land area in the world, and 6.45 billion people.
“If only total land area is considered, the average global density is 40.3 people per square kilometer. However not all land is equally suitable for human habitation. The land surface can be divided into different types:
land which is permanently covered in snow or ice - 20%Mountains - 20%Desert - 20%Land without topsoil e.g. bare rock - 10%Arable land (land which can be farmed) - 30%
Using only arable land, the average population density is 134.4 people per square kilometer. Although this appears to be a large number, a crowded beach is estimated to be 250,000 - 300,000 people per square kilometer.” (taken from nationmaster.com)Besides, if population is a problem why don’t we legalize all the other types of murder as well, that would sure take it down!
The heart of the matter is that abortion is wrong, no matter how crowded the world is, no matter how badly the mothers life is messed up, because that’s not an excuse either, if she really can’t handle a child, she can put the baby up for adoption! There are many people hoping, waiting for children, while at the same time hundreds are being thrown in garbage bags every day!
“If people worried a little more about their unborn children-- at least, to the extent of providing a proper heritage, physically, mentally, and morally, for them—and then stopped worrying about them after they are born, this world would be a very much pleasanter place to live in, and the human race would make more progress in a generation than it has done in recorded history.”(Lucy Maud Montgomery in Kilmeny of the orchard.)
Abortion stops a beating heart, and that is murder and nothing less!Terrorists have killed a little over 3000 americans since 1990, abortionists have killed 4000 americans since yesterday!But what can we do about it? Let’s make the world aware of what they’re doing! You could attend a life chain, write your representative, support a pregnancy clinic, and many more things that show that you care for the unborn children, the welfare of our country, and above all, the glory of our God.
