What did you think
When you woke up this morning
What were your plans
For this day bright and new
A tiny speck
On the world as it's turning
Yet somehow you thought
It revolved around you.
Then you blinked
Turned around
All you knew was upside down
Like the glass
Lying shattered on the ground
What's prestige?
What is power?
What is money now?
As the lifeblood slowly fades
From your face
The disguise is wearing thin
The mask is ripped away
Who were you?
Who was this man?
You convinced yourself to be
What were the lies?
The empty life
That you simply couldn't see
Until you blinked
Turned around
All you knew was upside down
Like the glass
lying shattered on the ground
What is prayer?
What is Jesus?
What's salvation now?
It's too late.

That was reeeeeeeeeeally good Heidi, really good...
We so often fail to grasp how fleeting life can be; choosing instead to wrap ourselves in a lethal sense of false security. Our times are in God's hands. Thankfully, for those of us who know Christ, our eternity is secure. But there will come a day when it will be too late:
Too late to say the unsaid word,
Or do the undone deed.
Too late to share a gift of love
With a world in dire need.
May God open our eyes!
Hey Heidi,
Nice blog. I am enjoying reading it :). I pray you continue to "grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ." 2 Peter 3:18
