Human Personality - Ed Welch

So I wanted to share some notes from this class too, but there is just soo much in depth stuff that it might be kind of overwhelming. So I am going to share with you the intro to the different sections of the outline we used: Creation, The Fall and Redemption. I just think it's really beautiful.

Creation
We were sinless, limited, dependent image-bearers
who lived under the reigning King and Father
ho were tested, as royal children are, and
who knew there was more to come

The Fall
We prefer to live out of bounds
So we are sent out of bounds
exiled from the land of the King
choosing to live in the land of the dark lord,
We are treasonous image makers
Yet there is evidence that things will change.
We are created in the image of God.
We are still alive.
Something is going to happen.
Something must happen.

Redemption
The Servant-King has come
He has surprised us and come in the middle of history
He shows us what it means to be human
In his death he liberates us from the evil one
and makes humanness possible
His reign brings the new covenant
The fulfillment of all the promises
Everything is now brought together in Christ
Look and see glory all around
“You are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people belonging to God, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light” (1 Pet.2:9)
People are coming together
With patience, kindness and forgiveness
Glory and renewal come in ways we didn’t expect
Through wisdom that looks weak
Through dying
Through trouble
and, yes, we continue to sin

Glorification
The King throws an eternal banquet
Lavish
Free
Everything is
Personal
Alive
In Christ
Sin and death are Vanquished
"Death is swallowed up in victory"
Shalom is in the air
Love is in our hearts
"Welcome Home"
Soon
