Merry Christmas!
I was just thinking, we have pretty much a 100% advantage over everyone else right now... They have Santa, we have HOPE!!!
Oh, and btw, did you guys know that 'Merry' in the original whatever it is actually means 'strong?'
A lady was talking about it on the radio... said 'God rest ye merry, gentlemen' actually means 'God make you strong, gentlemen'
Interesting...
So have a Strong Christmas and talk to you all later!

Good story
The Tablecloth
The brand new pastor and his wife, newly assigned to their first ministry, to reopen a church in suburban Brooklyn, arrived in early October excited about their opportunities. When they saw their church,it was very run down and needed much work. They set a goal to have everything done in time to have their first service on Christmas Eve. They worked hard, repairing pews, plastering walls, painting, etc. and on Dec 18 were ahead of schedule and just about finished. On Dec 19 a terrible tempest - a driving rainstorm hit the area and lasted for two days. On the 21st, the pastor went over to the church. His heart sank when he saw that the roof had leaked, causing a large area of plaster about 20 feet by 8 feet to fall off the front wall of the sanctuary just behind the pulpit, beginning about head high. The pastor cleaned up the mess on the floor, and not knowing what else to do but postpone the Christmas Eve service, headed home. On the way he noticed that a local business was having a flea market type sale for charity so he stopped in. One of the items was a beautiful, handmade, ivory colored, crocheted tablecloth with exquisite work, fine colors and a Cross embroidered right in the center. It was just the right size to cover up the hole in the front wall. He bought it and headed back to the church. By this time it had started to snow. An older woman running from the opposite direction was trying to catch the bus. She missed it.The pastor invited her to wait in the warm church for the next bus 45 minutes later. She sat in a pew and paid no attention to the pastor while he got a ladder, hangers, etc., to put up the tablecloth as a wall tapestry. The pastor could hardly believe how beautiful it looked and it covered up the entire problem area. Then he noticed the woman walking down the center aisle. Her face was like a sheet. "Pastor," she asked, "where did you get that tablecloth?" The pastor explained. The woman asked him to check the lower right corner to see if the initials, EBG were crocheted into it there. They were. These were the initials of the woman, and she had made this tablecloth 35 years before, in Austria. The woman could hardly believe it as the pastor told how he had just gotten the Tablecloth. The woman explained that before the war she and her husband were well-to-do people in Austria. When the Nazis came, she was forced to leave. Her husband was going to follow her the next week. She was captured, sent to prison and never saw her husband or her home again. The pastor wanted to give her the tablecloth; but she made the pastor keep it for the church. The pastor insisted on driving her home, that was the least he could do. She lived on the other side of Staten Island and was only in Brooklyn for the day for a housecleaning job.
What a wonderful service they had on Christmas Eve. The church was almost full. The music and the spirit were great. At the end of the service, the pastor and his wife greeted everyone at the door and many said that they would return. One older man, whom the pastor recognized from the neighborhood, continued to sit in one of the pews and stare, and the pastor wondered why he wasn't leaving. The man asked him where he got the tablecloth on the front wall because it was identical to one that his wife had made years ago when they lived in Austria before the war and how could there be two tablecloths so much alike? He told the pastor how the Nazis came, how he forced his wife to flee for her safety, and he was supposed to follow her, but he was arrested and put in a prison. He never saw his wife or his home again all the 35 years in between.
The pastor asked him if he would allow him to take him for little ride. They drove to Staten Island and to the same house where the pastor had taken the woman three days earlier. He helped the man climb the three flights of stairs to the woman's apartment, knocked on the door and he saw the greatest Christmas reunion he could ever imagine.

Ok, I'll do it too.
What a waste of time... however it's a rather amusing waste of time so hey. And I have time to waste.

Memorial Day

IN FLANDERS FIELDS the poppies blow
Between the crosses row on row,
That mark our place; and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.
We are the Dead. Short days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved and were loved, and now we lie
In Flanders fields.
Take up our quarrel with the foe:
To you from failing hands we throw
The torch; be yours to hold it high.
If ye break faith with us who die
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow
In Flanders fields.

Thoughts.
Hey all I'm just going to write a couple of random things that I know you will be simply enthralled with.
I got out of work 1 1/2 hours early today!
I broke my first-er-ONE AND ONLY glass at work today with the mop handle!
Squash pie tastes totally awesome.
I have no idea how I am gonna get my room clean before you all come over tomorrow.
Quote of the week by my amazing little bro Kenneth Daniel: If I get to be a Dad before he (Josh) does, then if we play horse I will sit on him and squish him! lol lol lol
Oh, and Question of the day by my incredibly intellectual little bro Mark William: Does spit rot?
Take a guess why he asked this question.
For those of you who are still going to the royal winter fair, check out the electric carpet!
For those of you who already went, you know what I mean. :-)
For those of you who haven't gone and aren't going... too bad.
It has now been officially proven that washing dishes numbs your brain.
I am almost finished talking.
Bye!
I am finished talking.

first day of work and other ramblings
Hello everybody just thought I'd tell you about my first day since I need a new post anyway.
For those of you who don't know, I started dishwashing at a fancy resteraunt in townon wednesday night.
Yes, that's right me, dishwashing. And a hundred other things.
And no, I did not break a single one out of the 6,000,000 or so that I had to do. :-)
And if that's not stunning enough, I also ran up and down stairs for the guy to get him food a ton of times and I did not fall down them at all!!
Yes, this is Heidi talking.
Besides doing dishes I also had to clean the outside of 4 fridges/freezers the looked like they hand't been cleaned in years, and then the bottom of this smaller fridge that smelt like rotten fish and had seriously a layer of slime on the bottom. Like an inch thick. I couldn't wipe it all up cuz it kept spilling on the floor so I ended up using a mop. :-S :-$
I couldn't help but wonder if it was some kind of initiation thing, becuase there is no way everyone could be doing that much work, cuz everything was so gross!
It wasn't like a gross environment though, just those things upstairs that I had to do and those fridges and another shelf that I had to do that was like coated in crumbs and crud andwho knows what all.
Anyway, I think I'm getting a little too detailed here maybe?
So I got home, crashed, and dreampt about... guess what? DISHES!!! Man if they paid you for washing dishes in your sleep I would have made a million bucks. Like seriously, I was waking up and thinking "noooo... I'm done the dishes!!"
So that's the end of it and my legs are finally starting to stop (lol that sounds weird) hurting.
Right now I am at my Uncle Ralph and Aunt Sharon's babysitting their kids so they can go out for supper. They are sooooo cute! It runs in the family, lol not.
So now that I'm finished blabbering, if any of you want to catch me up on your lives...
ttyl!

A Post
Hello all, I am very bored right now, so I am gonna post, though I really have nothing to post about.
Here's a list of the things I should be doing....
Cleaning my room
Steam cleaning my chair
Finishing my science
Dusting
Vacuuming
Here is a list of the things I feel like doing:
Seeing you
Snowboarding/skiing
Having Christmas
Eating chocolate
Swimming
Since all of the top list is uninteresting, and unimportant in my mind, and all of the bottom list is impossible, I will just have to be content to sit here and blab at you. I could write some emails, but it's easier to get everyone at once. :-)
I could think of something intellectual and inspring to say, but coming from me, you'd probably laugh.
And now Mom is saying I should get off soon, so thus ends THE LAMEST POST IN BLOGGING HISTORY!!!
(Comments, anyone?) :-)

here's a kinda corny poem that I had fun with
In control
I am the American dream
"I can do it" Is my theme
Pardon me? What's that?
oh. Sure God, I'll believe you
but, well, just don't think I need you
Sure I'll go to church
sometime anyway... but first
let me check my schedule
because you see God
I am in control.
So now You can go.
If this is the school of hard knocks,
then I'm sure full of bruises
my dream just can't make up
for all the time it loses
But though sticks and stones
will break my bones
I'll still make it on my own
cuz whatever happened
to my schedule... (??)
I'm still in control--
whoa! (honk)
watch it lady!
Ok, so maybe not.
Maybe being on my own
is more like being all alone
maybe this whole "dream"
is not as hot
as I first thought
and maybe...
I don't want to be in control.
So are You there God?
Or did you go?
Honest opinions please people... (no offense will be taken) and do you think it needs another verse?

updating...
hey everybody!
sorry I haven't been doing much emailing/posting lately... to give you a bit of an update on my life, here's what I've done in the past two weeks + two days:
Camping for the long weekend with my family, going overnight to fairglen, painting my room, overnight family conference, mandarin and afternoon and vv's with all my awesome cousins from out west who had the nerve to leave today... :-( St. Jacob's market with almost all the Luimes girls/ladies, a big birthday party for Liz, Mom, Oma, Andrew, other Andrew, Scott, Aunt Rachel... the list goes on... :-) it was mainly for Mom and Liz. Then today was a hike with our girls/boys club.
And next week I'm finally starting school, and then I'll be totally bored. :-)

only one-(by me)
Sitting on the swing
starry summer night
listening to the wind
and watching cars go by
A million people
a million souls
no possible hope
of ever knowing them all
So what's the point
Why even try
There is no way
I could touch that many lives
But just one, only one
would be enough to leave a legacy.
If just one, only one
could be called back to God
through me
then that one could share
and touch a few more
until The story has spread
from shore to shore
To those million people
in all of those cars
passing by
as I sit on the swing
under the stars

Alright, I'm finally posting some pics from the cottage!--here's the whole Brink clan

The first weekend nobody was there but us, so on saturday night we went to an old car show in town. It was pretty interesting! (and they had free food, lol)

On Sunday Aunt Elsa and Uncle Art's family came up for the day, since they just happened to be camping nearby at the same time. I am just posting this picture because Jay looks really good in it, which is big for him. :-) My apologies to Aunt Elsa, who doesn't. :-)

Here is Josh, just chilling-- one of the most popular events of the week. Isn't he cute? -though his eyes look a bit evil there... :-)

This is uncle Ralph, and Daniel, my birthday cousin, (just had to say that) is on his back. This is actually an improved method of tranportation... a few minutes earlier he was holding him on his back with one hand! Of course the crazy little kid loved it...

Kenny and me building a tower... Look at those muscles!! :-)

Me'n the kids built a sandcastle... which proved to be great fun the rake at the end of the week. :-$ There's a good view of the lake on this one...

Surfer dudes... got to love their expressions eh?

We went to an old abandoned mine while we were there... it was pretty cool! I hacked a pretty big piece of quartz out of the rock... and then lost it. :-)

Here's a couple pics of Liz.. which she doesn't like, but I think she looks cute.

Mark and I climbed up the side... it was harder than it looks cuz it was all wet and slippery.

Mark was freaking out the whole way down... :-) I just jumped. It's harder to kill yourself jumping then slipping right?? :-) Anyway that's all I'm gonna post... Liz will probably do more.

home sweet home
Hey all, I'm home! And very annoyed because I just wrote out a whole post and lost it.
It's been an awesome week and 1/2... and coming home is bittersweet. I miss the lake (especially swimming across, the water was so perfect!) the sunshine and the fellowship, but it's great to talk to you all again and have a computer, not to mention the difference between the cottage piano and our piano is like indescribable. I always got depressed after playing it. lol and I definetly don't miss the bugs!!
For all you picture freaks, I might post some, I haven't decided yet. But Liz probably will so check out her blog.
For now, I'll let you see the poem I wrote while I was there. I actully wrote part of it in a canoe...
Inspiring, yes. Easy, no. Basically, while the wind blew me straight into the trees, I slapped one of the gazillion hoprseflies trying to eat me and promtly dropped my notebook into a big puddle at the bottom of my canoe. (yeah it had a leak, just a little one.)
But anyway I'm talking way too much, so here it is and then I'll go bug someone else.
Can you count the stars?
Countless worlds, that twinkle and dance,
high in the heavens,
yet just beyond our grasp.
And tell me, Who's the Artist,
who at sunset and sunrise,
with a million brilliant colours,
paints the sky?
Who lit the match
that set the sun aflame?
Was it all just chance,
or does He have a name?
Where were we when it happened?
Why are we here now?
Can we pretend to comprehend
somehow?
But even though men change,
our world remains the same,
and while man believes that he decides what's true
the whole creation testifies to You.

A post!
Hey peoples!
I need your vote!
Which one of the two following pictures would be better for an avatar?
Candidate #1.
This guy is better because he, like me, seems to talk a lot, though he definetly needs a trip to the dentist.

Candidate #2. This dude has the advantage of looking more like me.
The top one looks more like my brother.

QUOTE OF LIZZI: Wow, that is amazing, I can hardly believe those are human horses!
So let's have your opinions! Remember, every vote counts!
P.S. Sorry peoples I'm in a very weird mood right now... in case you haven't figured that out.

I guess I'm not too busy to write poems...hehe
Quiet in a closet a little boy hides
his Daddy will beat him
if he cries.
Drink, yelling, pain
to him that means “Dad”
He doesn’t know that his true Father
has this boy’s name on the palm of His hand.
===================
He turns eighteen,
finally free
To get away from the pain and the hurt
but what his father showed,
is all that he knows,
and he turns to the world for support
His best friends use him
break him, then lose him
yet he’s denied, the right to cry
that would show he’s not man
and still he ignores
the love of the Lord
who’s holding out his hand
===================
He’s settled down,
has a high paying job and a family
but even though
his wallet’s full
his heart is still empty.
He will not try
to open his eyes
to the love that the Father holds out
it was not part of his life success plan
to be carved on the palm of God’s hand.
===================
His wife has died,
He doesn’t know his own kids
Only now at the end of his life,
does he see what he’s missed
and as he cries,
God opens his eyes
to see his missing part
Down on his knees
for mercy he pleads
and God gives him a new heart
so he finishes life a different man
with his name on the palm of God’s hand.
his Daddy will beat him
if he cries.

post on nothing
Hello everybody.
I know I should be postnig again, so I am, but It's not really gonna be interesting.
I'm really busy right now cuz my Aunt is here from Washington, and we're doing a lot of stuff with her, and because I have some cramming to do, school-wise. :-)
So just so you all know I won't be posting a whole lot for the next couple weeks, though I will still be online enough...
Not to mention I really have no idea what to post... :-)

Alberts confession and stuff.
Hey all, Heidi here, officially posting. Happy??
We had our year end program on Friday night, which went well except for a few minor gliches with the slide show and of course some piano mistakes on my part. Chris Miriam and Deanna I loved your guy's songs... and you did an awesome job. And it was good to see you there Marie, and I'm sooo sorry nobody was at church in the afternoon... I would have mentioned it but we weren't sure yet if we were going.
Which brings me to what I'm going to post about. Albert's Confession of Faith.
First of all I want to say that it's totally awesome that you did it Albert, I thank God sooo much that all my friends have the faith that he confessed, it's SUCH a huge thing to me.
'Neways, Saturday night Liz and I went and crashed Jess's party, which thankfully was kinda over anyway and then slept overnight at VV's with Rebecca and Care. Then we woke up way too early and went to Wellandport! We got to church like 45 minutes before it started...lol
After church we all (Aunt Elsa, Uncle Art, us girls, Egberts, and Bierstakers) went to the Sikkens house.
They had like a ton of awesome food there... Oh you guys, Albert Baked Cookies!!!!
And we even ate them! And lived! Just kidding, they were awesome Alb, chewy chocolate chip are the best...I think we all ate too many.
We had lunch, hung out, did (or attempted to do ) a crossword puzzle... played air hockey and pinball downstairs, and just had fun together. Oh, and we (Care and I ) played Alberts awesome InsanAquarium Game on his cellphone. You like feed the fish and everything!! lol I stunk at it. :-)
Then we went outside and saw Alberts famous Jetta!! It was sitting the garage, covered in like an inch of dust all around (see Jess's blog eventually for pics) which we had fun writing all over, it was a beautiful rusty Grey, and has at least half a million kilometres on it (correct me if I'm wrong Alb, it might have been more)
Now I know why He says his sunflower is a piece of Garbage! :-) It looks like it will be pretty awesome once he fixes it up and get sa n new engine and stuff.
Anywho and anyhow, It was a totally awesome day, and thanks so much for having us Albert.
Now I'm gonna go to Deanna's for lik the rest of the week, (not quite) So I'll see you guys around!

Beautiful
Here is one more poem for you guys. :-) It's pretty long, but it's one of my better ones I think.
I'm actually trying to write music for it... but we'll see how that goes.:-)
Made like our God,
A beautiful perfection,
Believed the lies,
That broke, and ruined me.
A wretched heart,
No hope of salvation,
Until I gave it
to the Man from Galilee.
-----------------------
and said, please
Take it
Break it
Change it
Rearrange it,
My heart, on this cross
of Calvery...
Mold it
Build it
Hold it
And fill it
then give it back to me...
Beautiful
----------------------
Sometimes it hurts,
this awesome transformation,
Sometimes the pain,
is more than I can bear,
But than I think,
of Jesus Christ's redemption,
I see a cross,
I see a Savior there!
-----------------------
and He's
Taking
Breaking
Changing
Rearranging
My heart, on His cross,
of Calvery...
Molding
Building
Holding
and Filling,
and giving it to me...
Oh Jesus now I see
I'll live my life to be
Beautiful
---------------------
Because You
Took
Broke
Changed
Rearranged,
My life, on Your cross,
of Calvery...
And You
Molded
Built
Held
Filled
Until I can stand before my King

Some more "Deep thoughts"
These things are so lame they're kinda funny.
When you're riding in a time machine way far into the future, don't stick your elbow out the window, or it'll turn into a fossil.
****************
Why do people in ship mutinies always ask for "better treatment"? I'd ask for a pinball machine, because with all that rocking back and forth you'd probably be able to get a lot of free games.
****************
I bet when the neanderthal kids would make a snowman, someone would always end up saying, "Don't forget the thick, heavy brows." Then they would all get embarrassed because they remembered they had the big hunky brows too, and they'd get mad and eat the snowman.
****************
I hope if dogs ever take over the world, and they chose a king, they don't just go by size, because I bet there are some Chihuahuas with some good ideas.
****************
I bet the main reason the police keep people away from a plane crash is they don't want anybody walking in and lying down in the crash stuff, then, when somebody comes up, act like they just woke up and go, "What was THAT?!"
****************
Ambition is like a frog sitting on a Venus Flytrap. The flytrap can bite and bite, but it won't bother the frog because it only has little tiny plant teeth. But some other stuff could happen and it could be like ambition.
****************
If you ever teach a yodeling class, probably the hardest thing is to keep the students from just trying to yodel right off. You see, we build to that.
****************
If you ever fall off the Sears Tower, just go real limp, because maybe you'll look like a dummy and people will try to catch you because, hey, free dummy.
****************
When I was a kid my favorite relative was Uncle Caveman. After school we'd all go play in his cave, and every once in a while he would eat one of us. It wasn't until later that I found out that Uncle Caveman was a bear.
****************
Children need encouragement. If a kid gets an answer right, tell him it was a lucky guess. That way he develops a good, lucky feeling.
****************
If you're robbing a bank and you're pants fall down, I think it's okay to laugh and to let the hostages laugh too, because, come on, life is funny.
****************
I think a good product would be "Baby Duck Hat". It's a fake baby duck, which you strap on top of your head. Then you go swimming underwater until you find a mommy duck and her babies, and you join them. Then, all of a sudden, you stand up out of the water and roar like Godzilla. Man, those ducks really take off! Also, Baby Duck Hat is good for parties.
****************
Many people think that history is a dull subject. Dull? Is it "dull" that Jesse James once got bitten on the forehead by an ant, and at first it didn't seem like anything, but then the bite got worse and worse, so he went to a doctor in town, and the secretary told him to wait, so he sat down and waited, and waited, and waited, and waited, and then finally he got to see the doctor, and the doctor put some salve on it? You call that dull?

Then you go swimming underwater until you find a mommy duck and her babies, and you join them. Then, all of a sudden, you stand up out of the water and roar like Godzilla. Man, those ducks really take off! Also, Baby Duck Hat is good for parties.

Why are they here
What are they doing?
Nobody knows,
if they're coming or going.
Grace given to us,
God working through us,
Hope for the cause,
Starting with us.

Tell the world
Change the world
Show the world what's true,
We've got to
pass it on,
living strong,
weve got to
start with me and you.

OCHEC
Hey! I'm posting again! (I wonder how many of my posts have started out this way...)
OCHEC was awesome this year, I haven't decide which of the past two was the best.. I liked the speakers and speeches better last year but the group and hanging out this year waas amazing.
I would say my favorite part was our official hangout, "the roof" That was so fun... it's amazing how weird people can be when they're in the right mood... :-) I wonder where our "emerald" is now, lol
What was all yours?
Dr. Humphrey Speech was definetly the best, that was sooo awesome man! SO LOUD!! we all plugged our ears the second time and we still jumped, lol
hmmm... what else was there... um, there was the musical presentation friday night, which was ok, the piano playing was amazing, but I didn't care for the singing.
Than we went home, and Miriam and I giggled hysterically the first half of the way home, everything was just so funny... we would tell eachother lame jokes and then just howl at them, while Chris and Liz were just sitting there looking at us like we were from mars... and then slept the rest of the way, and then woke up the next morning perfect zombies... and of course they had to do Joe Boot just then... you (I) cannot concentrate on that guy!!
Oh, and the "art" :-) two huge rusty stars on top of eachother that we were sitting on (on the roof) and the security guys came and told us not to sit on "the art" lol what next.... reminds me of Dr. Phillip's (or was it Snavely...?) description of modern art in new york... :-D "All you need to do is stick a feather in your mouth, then barf on the canvas, and then stand back and say "ooh, it's aht, beee-uuu-tee-ful aht..."
I laughed so hard...
Oh man we did so many interesting things.. but I forget half of them right now...
Oh yeah, btw Andrew, you do know we were totally kidding about the excersise thing eh? I mean you're like so chubby man! :-)
And sliding down the escalator banister...:-) I really wanted to do that but I didn't cuz the adults were all standing at the bottom waiting for us.
And then we went home and crashed. The End.

Andrew's Party
Ok, I don't really know what to say about the party since Melissa pretty much covered it all, but it was totally awesome Andrew thanks so much for inviting us!
That card was so cool... though I didn't get to see much of the inside or anything... not that it matters.
And um, I have a confession to make that is gonna make some people pretty mad, so prepare yourselves.
I was one of the dirty double crossers who stole the flags.
I was kinda bored cuz all I was doing was running across the line, getitng put in jail etc. etc.
It was a lot of fun doing it but I would not have if I knew people were gonna be mad. And sorry to you guys who were just about to win... I think everybody knows you would've totally creamed us. I was wondering what you three were doing out there in the woods.
The hike was awesome... though Devisser's barbed wire doesn't like me. Actually it only gave me a little cut but it bled so much everyboyd (especially Sarah) thought i was like about to die or something, lol I should've like swooned... I would've gotten lot's of attention lol. Which I don't want.
The volleyball game was cool too, especially at the end when the thing actually started going over... after we stopped useing the rules, lol. Man that volleyball killed! I guess cuz it was wet.
Ok, I don't know what else to say, and I'm pretty sure as soon as I post it I'll think of something. :-)
Oh, btw, did anyone notice I actually used all my capital letters on this post?? lol I'm so proud of myself.

party time!
last week tuesday we put on a surprise party for ben and aaron, which i'm sure you all know, and it was a huge success, i think everybody had a lot of fun. though it was really tooo bad you couldn't make it andrew...
check liz and jess's blogs for pictures, since they posted on it already i will try and talk about the things they didn't mention.
the best game was probably the broken telephone charades, which was totally hilarious, and we have a very good copy on video if anybody wants it. i have to say tim and sarah you guys win that one for the best imitations. sarah's was just really good and tim's was sooooo funny!
there was also a banana game, which was alot of fun, especially watching people eat their banana's. :-) go katie!
adnt eh oddball mixer was awesome! that was a lot of fun... though it took forever to start.. thanks sarah for entertaining us with your cheeseburger song. :-)
and then balloon one, which was great but man you wouldn't believe how many balloons we had to blow up for that! (don't worry, we brushed our teeth beofre hand so nobody passed out popping them :-)
we had fun doing it though... man you know how hard it is to laugh when you're blowing up balloons... it usually end up coming out of your nose. lol which can be rather disastrous.
anyway back to the actual party.... thanks so much to everyone who put money into the gifts which were awesome if i do say so myself... and sorry we totally forgot about cake.
that's about it and i'll try to start posting a bit more regularly on here!

ok here is a poem THAT I DID NOT WRITE. (i wish) It is a song that i heard a very long time ago so i will try to remember it.
I felt sometimes i didn't have
a story I could share,
I wasn't rescued from a past,
destroyed by dark despair,
but with Jesus I have memories,
of the times that we've been through,
and I wouldn't trade on moment,
of growing up with You.
I came to love You early
came to know You young,
You touched my heart dear Jesus,
when my life had just begun,
I gave you my tomorrows,
and a childish heart of sin,
and You've saved me from a lifetime,
of what I might have been.
I remember how You touched me,
but I can't explain it all,
how a choice that's so important,
could be made by one so small
I'd just bring to You my questions,
and what You've said to do I've done,
and I think You for the blessings,
and coming to You young!
I came to love You early,
came to know You young,
You touched my heart, dear Jesus,
When my life had just begun,
I gave You my tomorrows,
and a childish heart of sin,
and You've saved me from a lifetime,
of what I might have been.
Yes You saved me from a lifetime,
of what I might have been.
I just think that's an awesome song, and so true!

mission
ok, i know i post way too many of these, but i just wrote another poem, and since i have nothing else to do with it i'm gonna post it.
A beautiful life, on the brink of despair,
drugs, sex, you name it, this guy’s been there
but if there’s no truth, no wrong and no right,
where is the hope? the point to his life?
so he leaves them a note, tears running through it,
says “sorry everybody, but I got to do this..”
------------------------------------------
and we could have shown him, erased his doubt,
there is hope in our Savior, and His grace reaches out!
------------------------------------------
But how will they know if nobody tells them?
of Jesus love, and the chance that He’s given
you have to get up out of your padded pew,
and pass on the blessing God’s given to you.
------------------------------------------
There was a little girl, in your neighborhood,
who could have changed the world, and yet she never would,
because of all those voices, saying “it’s your choice”
she never got to see the light or hear her mothers voice,
but instead she lays in pieces, just another victim,
of the awful cruelty, of our country’s “freedom”
----------------------------------------
But where were our voices through all the doubt?
Christ could have saved her, His grace reaches out!
---------------------------------------
But how will they know if nobody tells them?
of Jesus love, and the chance that He’s given
you have to get up out of your padded pew,
and pass on the blessing God’s given to you.

ta da!
ok everybody... i'm gonna post again!!
this weekend was a whole lot of fun! thanks so much all you bowmanvillers!i guess i'll start from the very beginning....
well, albert emailed at 2 and said he was gonna leave from egberts in about 15 minutes, but he'd still call, so we sat around waiting for hime until around 3 when he called to say that he was leaving, so we got on the road around 3:30. wasn't that interesting?? :-)
we had a good car ride, fighting over what music to listen to, driving around looking for a place that jeremy wanted to drop something off at but didn't even know what looked like...(we finally just gave that up) and stopping at wendy's for a frosty which i promptly dripped all over my pants. :-) anyway, we arrived at amanda's house at around 5, where everybody was getting worried that we would show up at all, and sat around for awhile talking, and went out and saw their horses. (!!!!!!!!!) until it was time to go to their church's talent night. sarah and james showed off their amazing skills at making airplanes, LOL... sorry james but sarah creamed you! sarah, did you even know he was gonna put them on the tables at the school? that was funny!
as i was saying... the talent night was very good, and afterwards we all went over to melissa's place to watch napoleon dynamite, which by the way is like a very stupid movie.... :-) sorry to all you people who are like in love with it... it does have some moderately funny parts i will admit under great pressure. but it was very annoying to hear everybody quote it 24/7...:-) i forgive you guys.
of course i had to spill root beer all over my pants too... i was having a bit of a bad day. :-)
then all the guys and amanda left for her house around midnight, and the rest of us went downstairs and talked, or in my case sat around like a zombie, and then went to bed a little too late...:-)
next morning we had a very good breakfast, (thanks mrs. zegers!) which apperntly we didn't eat enough of, and then after a little more sitting around went over to amanda's, where we watched raise your voice, (good movie!!) while the boys shopped and kept calling for no particular reason, and then of course came back right at the best part and made so much noise we couldn't hear it. :-)
then we had lunch, and went outside to do some target shooting, (cool!) and of course loked at the horses again...:-) after which we went to melissa's, picked up the skates, and went skating for an hour! that was awesome. and the rided back was awesome too, we rode in the back of mr. zegers construction van, cuz he'd picked up the van. a little hard to keep your balance!
well, everybody went to melissa's after that, and we sat downstairs and watched jer and albert play a very interesting/amusing game of pool, and then care and i played the worlds most pathetic game of pool... i knew i was bad but wow! and then beth and i played a game of ping pong over the pool table, which kinda turned into a contest to see who could bounce the ping pong ball of their paddle the longest... lol rebecca won, but they were all waaay ahead of me.
after that we had some hamburgers, which were really good.... can't beat bbq... makes me think of summer...
beth rebecca and care left pretty early, after we were looking up directions, and ended up loking up all of our houses/churches/schools on satellite... lol then the rest of us watched the beginning of a pathetic hockey game, and part of gone fishing, which i totally didn't understand, since we were all talking through it anyway.
then we went home! and crashed! and tried to stay awake in church the next day! thankfully my dad has very good sermons, lol!
well, that's the end of my very very long post.... thanks everybody for a great weekend!

snow valley!!
ok, i guess i should post on yesterday, the long awaited snow valley, now over. annoying how things have such a way of being over eh?
but it was an awesome day!
after waiting in line twice for my blue stripe, (yeah, i did bad the first time) i got it, and hit the slopes!
the terrain park and the 4-man lift weren't open for a while, so that was too bad, but they did re-open, and i did a rail! i was so proud of myself, even though it was only like a little-baby rail. i didn't do the half pipe, cuz apparently it was really icy.
hmm.. what else is there to say... i skiied with like a whole bunch of different people, which was cool...
oh, and you guys is till don't know what i tabletop is... i think it's my fate...
but it was an awesome day!

the big dissapointment for me was missing like all but the last bit of the t-shirt runs, since i somehow lost you guys right before we were gonna do it, and then couldn't find you again. but thank you for doing one more when we found eachother!! that was awesome!! and i hope you arm chin and knees are doing better now melissa!
oh, and btw people, never put your lift tickt on your mitten, i did and i lost it twice, and the second time for good. nobody noticed i didn't have it though, so that was good.hmm.. what else is there to say... i skiied with like a whole bunch of different people, which was cool...

afterwards most of us went to the kiezebrinks for supper, which was really nice except mr. kiezebrink had to make a little comment in front of everybody about me and face plants... :-$
we ate, watc.hed finding nemo/slept, and then went outside to finishing the snowball fight we started on the 12th. a little more even this time!! but of course we still creamed the guys.
then we went home, and crashed, and that's about. all there is to say!
i would start a countdown to next year but that might take awhile.

posting...
hey everybody, i think it's time to post again. my life right now is not very interesting because melissa is gone,
:-( so there's not a whole lot of blogging going on... and today i was going to go down to bowmanville with albert jess and liz and everyboyd else who is there, but alberts car broke down so it didn't work. :-( i hope you guys have tons of fun! and i hope your car gets "better" soon albert!
hmm.. what is up with me... well last night we had a father daughter night with our ks group, so that was cool... we were supposed to come matching or co-ordinated, and we had quite a tough time with that. Dad wasn't too exited about dying his hair red so we just ended up white shirts, jeans, and red carnations in our hair/onn his shirt. we played lots of games, like smarties pictionary where each couple would have a bag of smarties and one of them would have to make a picture with them and the other guess, and the first couple who guessed it won. that was fun. then we had to have a race eating them all, which all the smart people chickened out on.
:-) i don't want to eat another smartie for a loooong time!
anyway, we played some more games, and got pictures taken, right after i spilled coffee all over my shirt, and had a great time. anyway...
ONLY 1 WEEK AND 6 DAYS UNTIL SNOW VALLEY!!!
it's gonna be awesome... especially since like everybody is gonna be there...
i'm starting to have second thoughts about that rail melissa, i have never done one in my life, and last time was the only time i even did a jump! so you ahve to at least let me practice a couple of times. without anyone watching. :-)
so what has everybody been doing lately?
here are a couple interesting questions:
Why do you have to "put your two cents in"...but it's only a "penny for your thoughts?" Where's that extra penny going to?
How is it that we put man on the moon before we figured out it would be a good idea to put wheels on luggage?
Why do people pay to go up tall buildings and then put money in binoculars to look at things on the ground?
Who was the first person to look at a cow and say, "I think I'll squeeze these dangly things here, and drink whatever comes out!"
Or watch a white thing come out a chicken behind and think, "that ought to taste good."
Can a hearse carrying a corpse drive in the carpool lane?
If the professor on Gilligan's island can make a radio out of a coconut, why can't he fix a hole in a boat?
Is Disneyland the only people trap operated by a mouse?
Do the Alphabet song and Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star have the same tune?
Did you just try singing the two songs above?
Did you ever notice that when you blow in a dog's face, he gets mad at you, but when you take him for a car ride; he sticks his head out the window?
have a great day everyone!

Gentle Giants
The Whale Shark
Someday I want to swim with one of these...
Worlds biggest fish, but it eats only plankton and small fish!
Isn't it huge???
Some think it was the big fish that swallowed Jonah... interesting...
Anyway, just thought they were cool pics....
Here is the pic of it's man-eating mouth.
ok, here's the not-so-man-eating one.

The family ski trip-- from a chicken soup book.
Maybe I’ve been spending too much time watching the x-files or something, but I’m trying to think how I would describe skiing to extraterrestrials.
Aliens: Take us t your leader.
Me: Can’t right now, we’re going skiing.
Aliens: what is skiing?
Me: well, first you go to the top of this really, really high mountain that’s covered with this cold, slippery stuff called snow. The you strap these skinny little sticks on your feet, and try to go straight down in a standing position without killing yourself. And if you survive, you stand in a long line for the opportunity to do it again.
Aliens: Goodbye.
Me: where are you going?
Aliens. In search of intelligent life.
It was crowded in the rental shop. Plus, with the temperature only twenty degrees outside, everyone was dressed like the Pillsbury Dough Boy—only in shades of mauve and lime green.
“Maybe we should have rented equipment back in town,” my wife suggested.
“No way,” I said. “Remember last time? they gave me two left ski’s and two right boots. All day long I kept running into myself. Besides, now that I’m more experienced, I need more sophisticated stuff.”
“You and I never got off the bunny slope,” she said. “The kids were the only ones who advanced.”
“Well sure, but with better equipment I’ll be skiing circles around everyone out there.”
“That’s what I’m afraid of.” she said.
A young man approached us, wearing a ski hat pulled down to his eyebrows.
“Are you like into radical carving or do you get off by just dropping in and tucking?”
I hesitated.
“He kinda ski’s all over the place,” my wife told him.
“Oh, right, vary the terrain, challenge the brain. Cool. Got just the right set-up for you.”
He handed me a set of ski’s that looked like they might have been made by NASA.
“Progressive force bindings with environmental friction control, and ultra-fast racing skis with deep side cuts and a beta torsion core. You’ll fly with these babies.”
He turned to my wife. She glanced at me and my new racing outfit. “I just want something for the other parent who can’t afford to be out of work on crutches for 6 weeks,” she told him.
To me, the worst part of skiing is getting from the ski lodge to the chairs. There’s always a slope, and it’s always slippery. Usually, after 30 minutes or so, I find I have actually lost ground and am now standing in the parking lot.
Apparently, the 1200 dollar skis helped, because in just minutes, we safely made it to the bunny slope and got in line with all the other 5-year olds.
That’s when the rest of the family came barreling up, skidding to a stop right in front of us. I watched them for a second, smiled, then immediately fell down, taking the entire waiting line with me.
“Wow. Cool skis,” Jon said. “But this is the wrong lift, You want that lift over there.”
I followed the path of the chair lift up the mountain until it became a speck that disappeared into the thick clouds.
“You’re not… scared, are you?” asked Patrick.
“Of course not. it’s just that these skis may not be fast enough to ski up there on…”
“Black Death Run.”
"Right, Black Death Run."
My wife opted for coffee instead of sheer terror, leaving me as parent-in-charge.
Next thing I knew, we were standing somewhere that even mountain goats wouldn’t go.
I immediately issued a warning to the others.
“Don’t get to close to the edge of that cliff,” I shouted. “follow me.”
“This isn’t a cliff,” Christy said. “this is the trail. The cliff is over there somewhere…Dude?”
I’ve often wondered what my last words would be. I figured maybe something like “I did it for God and country,” or “I’m sorry I have but one life to give.”
As it turns out my last words contain only vowels, as in,
“Yiiiiiiieeeeeeeeeooooooooooooooooooo..”
I’m not exactly sure what happened over the next few minutes. I remember a lot of white, some muted voices, and being poked by a number of sharp objects all over my body. Fox Mulder of the x-files would have called it an alien abduction. Maybe it was. Of course, why the aliens rolled me up like a giant snowball and dropped me off at the foot of the mountain I’ll never know.
But everyone seemed happy to see me, including the rental shop guy, who quickly removed my progressive force bindings and ultra-fast racing skis, and returned to his shop muttering something about hot-shot adults and why couldn’t they be more sensible---like teenagers.
The rest of my family arrived just as my wife handed me a cup of something that looked like coffee, but tasted like brandy.“Thanks, dear,” I said. “and you’ll be happy to know I’ve given up skiing.”
“we are too,” said Stacey.
“Really?” my wife asked.
“Yup,” added Shane. “tomorrow, we’re all going snowboarding.”
I sighed, pulled a pinecone out of my era, and downed the entire contents of the cup.
